In the past 20 years, the Tamsarya Foundation paid in 14 mountain villages the salary of o ne teacher.
In many schools, the Government pays only for one or two teachers. The other teachers are paid for by the inhabitants. They are able to do this by together selling part of their crops. This is how they can afford to have a teachers. I some area, i.e. at Cheppngs, the people are so poor that even this is impossible.
The Foundation is now helping the inhabitants as they are putting pressure on he local governments to pay for at least some teachers. The outcome is often successful!
